Award-winning journalist and media personality Sharon Momanyi has officially joined Nation Media Group (NMG), marking a new chapter in her career in media.
Momanyi, a seasoned journalist with over a decade of experience, has joined the media group as a reporter for NTV.

She makes a TV comeback years after quitting at Standard Media Group.
Momanyi joined the Mombasa Road-based media station as an intern and served in various roles, including news anchor, special projects reporter and features editor

While announcing the news, Momanyi stated that her exit from the Mombasa Road-based media house in April 2023 came after a decade of dedicated service and impactful storytelling.
“I’m grateful for all the wins and lessons we have shared, the impact we’ve created, and the friendships made. It’s time to bid adieu, I pray for the success of our newsroom and the best for you my dear colleagues,” she wrote in her exit statement.

Sharon Momanyi’s Awards and Education
Renowned for her in-depth human-interest stories and investigative pieces, Sharon Momanyi won the Media Council of Kenya’s Annual Journalism Excellence Award in 2018.
She was awarded for her reporting on sustainable development.
Aside from her career as a media personality, she also doubled as a communications consultant for development organizations, designing messages to inform and influence policy.
Sharon Momanyi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and electronic media from Daystar University in 2010.
Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in international relations and Affairs from the United States International University-Africa (USIU).

Other Media Personalities who Have Joined NTV
Sharon Momanyi joins several other journalists who have recently joined Nation Media Group, including former KTN and DW reporter Kathryn Omwandho.
Others on the list include former KTN journalist Sycilia Wakesho who joined the station to anchor Swahili news bulletins.
Also, former Spice FM presenter Eric Latiff and journalist Janet Mbugua recently joined the station to host a morning show dubbed Fixing The Nation, alongside Nation FM‘s presenter Mariam Bishar.
Earlier in December 2024, the media house poached former K24 sports journalist Gladys Midecha.
On the other hand, there have been exits at the station including that of NTV journalist Smriti Vidyarthi, who exited the station in February 2025 after 16 and a half years.
Seasoned journalist and NTV editor Roselyne Obala also exited the media house to take up a new senior role at the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
