Attempts by Trump to broker a Summit between President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have not materialised.
The Kremlin insists any meeting must take place in Moscow, a condition Zelenskyy has repeatedly rejected.
As the conflict nears its fourth year, Russia holds about 19% of Ukrainian territory and is intensifying efforts to capture the cities of Pokrovsk and Kupiansk, maintaining pressure on Ukrainian forces.
The Kremlin has maintained its position that the Ukraine war could end through political and diplomatic means, but blamed Ukraine for halting negotiations.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia is prepared for dialogue but will continue its military operations until its objectives are achieved.
Russia Claims Peace Efforts Blocked
Peskov responded to remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who suggested the conflict might end soon.
“Russia really wants peace. Russia is open to the settlement of the Ukrainian problem with political and diplomatic means,” he added.
“However, due to the lack of such an opportunity, when the doors to this are closed by the Kiev regime, we continue a special military operation.”

No face-to-face talks have occurred since July 23. Peskov accused Ukraine of being influenced by European nations, which he claims believe Kyiv can win the war through military means.
“They are being egged on in every way by the Europeans… This is a deep delusion given the situation on the battle front.”
Headache for Putin as Serbia Warns of Rising European Russian Tensions
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has warned that European countries are preparing for a potential military conflict with Russia, citing recent statements by French military leadership as evidence.
In a broadcast on Pink TV on November 12, Vučić stated that his analysis of recent developments indicates rising tensions between Europe and Russia.
He referenced Chief of the French Armed Forces General Staff Fabien Mandon, who stated that the French army must be ready for a possible confrontation with Russia within the next three to four years.

“As I analyse the facts, I conclude that a war between Europe and Russia is becoming increasingly apparent. This is not empty talk; everyone is preparing for it,” Vučić said.
The Serbian leader also stated that Serbia faces a difficult position Serbia faces amid competing interests from Western countries and Russia.
“We are between a rock and a hard place,” he said, adding that Serbia must continue strengthening its armed forces for self-defence.
Vučić’s remarks come as European nations maintain heightened military readiness in response to Russia’s ongoing military activities and geopolitical assertiveness.
