The Kenya Industrial Training Institute (KITI), under the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry, has announced its May 2026 intake for KCSE Grade D students.
Several programmes, such as Craft Certificates in Building Technology, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Plumbing, and Leather and Tannery, accept KCSE Grade D plain as the minimum requirement, creating opportunities for students who may not qualify for degree courses.
The institute also provides short professional courses in areas such as welding and fabrication, CCTV installation, mobile phone repair, barista training, cake making, footwear production, and computer-aided design.
Meanwhile, the Courses are examined by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), the Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC), and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).
KITI Opens May Intake Applications for Grade D Students
According to the institution, these courses are designed to equip students with hands-on experience in building and construction, fashion and textiles, ICT, leather and tannery, mechanical and automotive engineering, electrical and electronics, and food and beverage management.

How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to provide their academic certificates (KCSE or KCPE) and a school-leaving certificate.

They are also expected to bring with them a National Identification card, a photo passport, and a non-refundable application fee of KSh 300 by March 25, 2026. All applications are to be addressed to the director at the address.
