Kenyan drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution on major highways due to an ongoing abnormal load convoy transporting a gigantic oil tank from Mombasa Port.
In a public notice dated December 16, 2025, Transpares Kenya Ltd issued a caution to the public, specifically drivers, urging them to exercise special care on roads before overtaking routes due to the transportation of an oversized oil tank along Kenyan highways from December 16, 2025, to February 17, 2026.
The extra-wide abnormal load is said to be measuring 22 meters long and 4.60 meters in width and will be transported from Mombasa through Mlolongo all the way to Malaba.
“Before overtaking the route, all road users using this road are requested to exercise extra care and caution when in the vicinity of this convoy,” read part of the publication.
The affected highways that the convoy will be using are the Mombasa – Mariakani – Mlolongo – Gilgil -Mau Summit – Webuye – Malaba route.

Transpares is a well-established logistics company specializing in heavy and abnormal cargo transport in East Africa. Similar notices for oversized loads are common in Kenya for safety on shared roads.
