Water Authority Announces 120 Jobs On Permanent And Pensionable Terms

The Water Resources Authority (WRA) has declared 120 job vacancies across technical, professional, and support roles, spanning 35 functional areas within the organization. In a notice on 12 May 2026, the Water Authority said it is seeking qualified and capable individuals to strengthen its mandate to regulate the management and use of water resources in the country.

“The Management of the Authority wishes to identify and recruit capable officers in the underlisted positions,” read part of the notice.

According to the Authority, the vacancies cut across a range of functions, including standards and regulation, permitting, enforcement and compliance, research and data management, hydrology, geology, engineering, laboratory services, pollution control, legal services, information communication technology, finance, planning, community engagement, records management, administration, and other support services.

According to the authority, successful candidates, the Authority said, will be engaged on a long‑term basis.

“Successful candidates will serve for a probationary period of six (6) months, thereafter, convert to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service subject to performance,” WRA stated, adding that, “Remuneration will be subject to the existing terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.”

How to apply

Interested candidates are required to fill and submit the online application form in a typed format, with applications to be received on or before 1st June 2026.

Applicants may also submit hard-copy application forms, which can be dropped off at the WRA offices in the NHIF Building, 9th Floor, Records Office.

Applications should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Water Resources Authority, NHIF Building, 9th Floor Wing B, Ragati Road, P.O. Box 45250–00100, Nairobi.

Qualifications and requirements

Across all 35 departments, the Water Authority  requires applicants to meet common baseline qualifications and standards.

Candidates must possess the minimum academic qualifications specified for their respective roles from a recognized institution and demonstrate proficiency in computer applications.

For positions above entry level, applicants are expected to have relevant cumulative work experience in the same cadre or in a comparable position within the public service, while professional roles require membership in relevant professional bodies where applicable.

In addition, all successful candidates will be required to comply with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, by submitting valid clearance certificates from the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Higher Education Loans Board, the Ethics and Anti‑Corruption Commission, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, and credit reference bureaux.

The Water Authority emphasized that it is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and gender equality and encourages people living with disabilities to apply.

The Authority warned that applications submitted without the required qualifications or documents, as well as any canvassing, will result in automatic disqualification. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
