Understanding a parent’s climate is the tool of assessment for the future predictions of the youth. Parents’ climate provides the foundation for the total personality development of new generation. Ignoring parent’s climate means a generation with no more future. A non-supportive parent’s climate leads to hopeless youth.

Parents have a unique role in the growth and development of their children. Parents have sole contributions for the healthy and successful life of children. There is no substitute of parents’ role in the intellectual development of children.

Preparing new generation for their ultimate contributions in the society and successful life is the dream of all parents. Parent’s climate varies from society to society. Parents look to be in constraints in the provision of even food to their children in many parts of the world.

Illiteracy of the parents is also major barrier in the provision of suitable climate to the children at their homes. No doubt, parents’ affection with their children is truly pure. But available resources and education of parents have significant place in educating their children.

It needs to evaluate the available resources of parents’ and their education for the better future new generation. Ignoring parents’ financial status and their education mean to ignore the future of new generation instead of having good quality education system.

Provision of good food, dressing and other needs to the children is responsibility of the parents. But a number of parents are even not in position for the provision of simple food to their children particularly in third world.

The initiatives of the governing bodies look to be failed in preparing their new generation for a sustainable society without focusing on parents’ financial status and education.

All the initiatives for quality of education are dependent on the parents’ climate. A child without proper breakfast is with no hope of proper learning at school. Huge numbers of children are victims of malnutrition particularly in developing countries.

Children without proper school dressing are victims of discrimination at school and are observed in many psychological issues. A deprived child suffers in many psychological complications that may lead to violent and criminal attitude at any stage of his or her life.

Provision of healthy climate at home not in understanding of many parents. What is healthy climate at home? What are the physical, psychological and moral needs of a child? How can the parents fulfill the psychological and moral needs of their children? Such questions need to be addressed with the support of governing bodies.

Parents and The State: Who is Responsible for Child Development?

Child development needs serious attentions and a suitable environment. Success in the child development is based on the learning of parents.

Children rights and responsibilities of parents should be part of the curriculum in educational institutions. This is the comprehensive strategy for the enhancing the learning of future parents about children rights and responsibilities of future parents.

Governing bodies needs to find solution to address the parents’ illiteracy about the children rights. Social and print media may be given the responsibility for launching the awareness programs for the illiterate parents’ about the children rights.

Evaluating the needs and responsibilities of parents for caring their children is less in practice in developing countries.

States should perform vital role in evaluating the existing situation of children development and urgently address the barriers. Parents with financial crisis and illiteracy are seeking urgent support from their governing bodies for the better future of their children.

The United Nations celebrate the Global Day of Parents on 1 June of every year for recognizing the primary responsibility of the parents for nurturing and protection of their children.

The parents should not be left alone in case of failing in fulfilling the needs of their children. NGOs, governing bodies and society members should take initiatives for the deprived parents for the better future of their children.

UNICEF reports that millions of children die every year because of malnutrition and diseases. In many countries of the world, girls have no access to quality of education and have many traditional barriers for higher education.

The UN declaration of the rights of the child clearly defines children rights for protection, education, health and nutrition. Unfortunately, millions of children are still seeking help for their survival in many parts of the world.

UNICEF (2023) reports that children in 98% area of African countries are at high risk because of climate change.

UNICEF further reports that,’ children living in the Central African Republic, Chad, Nigeria, Guinea, Somalia and Guinea-Bissau are the most at risk’ because of climate crisis and 46.7 million children are at risk of malnutrition in West and Central Africa.

UN reports that, ‘children in sub-Saharan Africa will be 16 times more likely to die before their fifth birthday than children in high-income countries’. UNICEF (2024) reports that, ‘nearly half of all deaths in children under 5 are attributable to under nutrition’.

Global Nutrition Report indicates that Asia still experiences a malnutrition burden among children aged under 5 years. UNESCO (2023) indicates that 250 million children are out of school.

UNHCR (2024) reports that 14.8 million school-aged refugee children remain out of formal education. Physical, emotional and sexual violence with children has been reported worldwide.

Child kidnapping, child labor and child beggary is a dark picture of our society. It represents that still parents and governing bodies look not to be responsible for children rights.

Therefore, parents and the governing bodies need to understand the severe situation of children rights and protection and should take initiatives for the better future of new generation.
