Former Vice President of Kenya Moody Awori has urged politicians to desist from what he termed as ‘sideshows’ and support the President William Ruto-led administration.
While addressing the press after hosting Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi at his home on Monday, March 13, Awori stated that politicians should work to unite Kenyans at this time.
He added that they should support the Kenya Kwanza government as it delivers its manifesto.
“Kenya Kwanza won the elections in its manifesto and the manifesto emphasized the needs of the ordinary mwananchi. I am delighted to see that that is the direction it is going because we need unity. Sideshows: we need to leave them,” stated the former Vice President.
Moreover, the 94-year-old retired politician highlighted that elections are no more, and the president William Ruto-led coalition is in place. As such, he urged leaders and Kenyans to allow the new regime to follow its manifesto and ensure the constitution is respected for all to be well.
In addition, Awori’s remarks came at a time when Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Raila Odinga is holding anti-government rallies countrywide.

The opposition chief is looking to mobilize his supporters to reject President Ruto’s administration which he has on several occasions termed as illegitimate.
According to Mr. Odinga, the 2022 General Election was rigged
Nevertheless, Awori said president Ruto deserves respect and support from everyone as the Head of State, whether one voted for him or not.
“It doesn’t matter his age, he is now our father, the father of the nation. Let’s support him,” Moddy Awori stated.
