He mentioned that UDA B is trying to play opposition politics, and they are in government while ODM B is seated in opposition but trying to sound like government.
Kioni said the two groups have brought confusion in the opposition which might give Ruto space to retain his seat.
“These two units, ODM B and UDA B, are the ones that are likely to guarantee Ruto another five-year term. If this confusion that they have brought in the opposition continues, that is a way of giving another five-year term to the sitting president,” Kioni said.

Kioni on Azimio Coalition
He said the Jubilee Party is still a member of the Azimio Coalition based on the document signed during the agreement before the 2022 elections.
He stated that the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is still the leader of the Azimio Coalition.
Kioni said Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was leading the Coalition while Raila was concentrating on the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson elections.
“Now that he is back, I would expect him to call the Azimio team and we get to take stalk of what has happened and what we want to do going forward,” Kioni said.

Opposition Parties Joining Ruto
Kioni said the Raila’s move to AUC was abrupt and weakened the role of opposition.
He stated that Azimio was already overwhelmed but the Gen Z movement helped Kenyans to be the opposition and keep the government in check.
Kioni said that a section of Jubilee and ODM members joining the government and the broad-based government made it difficult for the opposition to remain strong.
