Mohammed Chute Said is the current Senator for Marsabit County, having been elected in the August 2022 general election on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
He is serving his first term in the Senate. Before entering politics, Chute was a career civil servant and businessman, serving as Managing Director and Chairman of Blue Nile East Africa Ltd since 1996 and as CEO of Blue Nile Aviation.
Chute has also been chairing Midrock Water Drilling Company Ltd since 2006.
