Flying can be one of the most wholesome and relaxing activities for many. However, it can also turn out to be an infuriating and offensive activity if you end up sitting next to the wrong person, largely because of as some airplane behaviors.

By wrong person, I mean that passenger that just cannot let you have your peace.

Several passengers have spoken up about some offensive behaviors while flying. In this article, we will explore some of these behaviors to help you quickly pick them out on your next flight.

Also, if you see yourself in any of the behavior explored, maybe it if time to mind the passenger seated next to you and foster an enjoyable experience.

Here are some irritating airplane behaviors

Uncontrollable Bathroom Visits

Although it can be difficult to control bathroom visits, it is important to prepare in advance for a long flight especially if you are on the window seat.

It is not pleasant to keep moving through seats and aisle for bathroom breaks after every 5 to 10 minutes.

Taking less amount of liquids may just be the trick you need to help you out with this.

Switching Seats in airplane

Most passengers, especially those who book tickets in advance like to choose a perfect seat for themselves.

Sometimes it’s the aisle seat, or the seat closer to the bathroom. Then comes the passenger who didn’t book a seat as early but wants to witch seats.

People often request to switch seats for various reasons, but you cannot deny that it is pretty offensive.

Reclining Seat

When it comes to airplane etiquette, reclining your seat has become a contentious issue. According to Skyscanner, just under one-third of travelers do not want you to recline your seat.

Some argue that reclining your seat back if you are not in first class or a seat with extra legroom is “inconsiderate,” especially since some passengers already feel cramped in their seats.

If you want to lean back on a flight, it’s best to ask the person sitting behind you of you if it’s okay to slightly recline your seat – and never, ever just slam your seat back.

Unwanted Conversation

Many travelers are not comfortable sitting next to individuals who are too chatty.

Although there are individuals who may want to start some small talk for one reason or another, most passengers just want to make it through the flight comfortably and without disturbance.

In addition, some topics could be uncomfortable or controversial and when starting conversations, it is important to note that not everyone will engage in the topic you are interested in.

To avoid unnecessary heated arguments, maybe you could just hold that conversation for your bestie when you land.

Using speakerphone

Additionally, another offensive airplane behavior is taking calls on speakerphone.

Although your phone should be turned off for the majority of the flight there is an increasing need for in-flight connectivity.

Passengers therefore make phone calls or even video calls while on speaker forget that they are causing disturbance to the rest of the passengers.

Do you fly? You probably want to consider these airplane behaviors to avoid being nuisance.
