Kenyans in several parts of the country should brace for chilly weather this week, with night-time temperatures expected to drop to as low as 4°C in some areas, according to the latest forecast by the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD). In its seven-day  weather outlook for the period between June 23 and June 29, 2026, Kenya Met said minimum temperatures of below 10°C are expected in parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley and areas around Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The coldest conditions are expected in Nyahururu, where temperatures could fall to 4°C, followed by Narok (6°C), Kericho (7°C) and Eldoret (8°C).

The weatherman noted that intermittent cool and cloudy conditions are also likely in parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Southeastern Lowlands, the Rift Valley and North-eastern Kenya.

Despite the cold nights, daytime temperatures exceeding 30°C are expected in parts of the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western regions.
