The Kenya Meteorological Department has released its seven-day weather advisory for the period between April 14 and April 20.
The weatherman has noted that weather conditions will vary at the county level, with differences in rainfall distribution, temperature, and overall weather patterns expected between April 14 and April 20.
According to the update, rainfall is expected across six parts of the country, and other regions are expected to experience high daytime temperatures and cold nights.
Latest outlook shows a mixed weather pattern, with widespread rainfall expected in key regions while parts of northern and coastal Kenya remain hot during the day.
Weather Update in Highlands, Rift Valley, and Western Kenya
According to the meteorological department, rainfall is expected to continue in the Central Highlands, including Nairobi and surrounding areas, as well as the Lake Victoria Basin, Western Kenya, and parts of the Rift Valley.

Other regions likely to receive rainfall include the South-eastern lowlands, the Coastal region, and parts of North-eastern Kenya.
The weatherman notes that the rainfall will vary in intensity, with some areas experiencing light to moderate showers while others may record occasional heavy downpours.
Western Kenya and the Lake Basin are expected to remain among the wettest regions during the forecast period, with showers and thunderstorms likely to occur on several days.
Similarly, parts of the Central Highlands are expected to experience intermittent rainfall, particularly in the afternoons and evenings.
High Daytime Temperatures in Northern and Coastal Areas
While rainfall is expected in many regions, the forecast also indicates that several parts of the country will continue to experience high daytime temperatures exceeding 30°C. These include the Coastal region, North-eastern Kenya, South-eastern lowlands, and North-western Kenya.
The hot conditions are expected to persist despite the ongoing rains in other parts of the country.

Daytime temperatures in these areas are likely to remain elevated throughout the forecast period, especially in arid and semi-arid zones.
Cold Nights Expected in Highlands and Rift Valley
In contrast to the hot daytime conditions in lowland areas, the advisory indicates that some regions will experience cold nights, with temperatures dropping below 10°C.
These conditions are expected in parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and areas near Mt. Kilimanjaro.
The cooler nighttime temperatures are typical of high-altitude regions, where clear skies and rainfall patterns contribute to significant temperature drops after sunset.
Residents in these areas are likely to experience chilly mornings and nights throughout the forecast period.
