However, he suggested that progress has been limited and that critical commitments have not yet been made.
“We are in negotiations with them. They want to make a deal, but we haven’t heard those secret words,” Trump said
Trump emphasized that diplomacy remains his first choice, describing it as the most effective way to resolve long-standing tensions.
He has warned Theran that he will not allow a country that “sponsors terror” to have nuclear weapons.
“My preference is to solve this problem through diplomacy. But one thing is certain. I will never allow the world’s number one sponsor of terror, which they are by far, to have a nuclear weapon,” added Trump.
U.S. Approves a Trillion-Dollar Defense Budget
Trump highlighted America’s military power as a key pillar of his foreign policy, crediting his first term with rebuilding the armed forces.
According to Trump, the U.S. has the world’s strongest military, and no nation should ever doubt Washington.
“And no nation should ever doubt America’s resolve. We have the most powerful military on Earth. I rebuilt the military in my first term; we’re going to continue to do so,” stated Trump.
He revealed that his administration had approved a trillion-dollar defense budget to maintain global leadership and defense.
“Also, we just approved a trillion-dollar budget. We have no choice. We have to be strong because hopefully, we will seldom have to use this great power that we built together. It’s really called peace through strength, and it’s been very, very effective.”

Turkiye Speaks on Plans to Invade Iran if Trump Approves Strike
On Tuesday, Turkiye addressed speculation over a potential invasion of Iran amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications denied reports that Ankara would enter Iranian territory if the United States launches a military strike, describing the claims as disinformation.
In a statement on Wednesday, February 25, the Directorate said that Turkey has always respected the territorial integrity and sovereignty of neighboring countries and maintains border security.
“The claims in some press and media outlets that ‘Türkiye plans to invade Iranian territory for security reasons if the U.S. attacks Iran’ contain disinformation. Our state, which has always respected the territorial integrity and sovereignty of neighboring countries, maintains border security around the clock, regardless of crises.”
The statement comes following a report that Türkiye is updating contingency plans in anticipation of a potential U.S.-Iran conflict, including preparations for a surge of refugees from Iran.
