James K’Oyoo Onyango is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Muhoroni Constituency in Kisumu County.
Early life and educational background
K’Oyoo began his education at Magare Primary School in 1965 and successfully obtained his Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) in 1971.
K’Oyoo continued to Kisumu Technical School in 1972 and graduated in 1975 with a distinction.
Career
Professional career
James K’Oyoo started his career in 1976 when he began as a Production Trainee at East African Industries Limited, a position he held till 1980.
He then moved to Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation, where he served as a Personnel Clerk from 1984 to 1990.
His political career began with grassroots mobilization and community engagement in Kisumu County.
Between 1991 and 2013, he ventured into the private sector through Jamoko Investments, working within its management structure.

He was elected to represent Muhoroni Constituency in the 11th Parliament and has since served in the 12th and 13th Parliaments.
Political career
James K’Oyoo transitioned into politics in 2013, winning the Muhoroni Constituency seat.
He has held the position continuously, starting his first term on 10 March 2013, then re-elected for subsequent terms, being fully affiliated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) throughout his legislative tenure.
