Situated on a 50-acre site, Safari Park Hotel was founded in 1974 when it acquired the Spread-Eagle Hotel, a small hotel run by the Boswell family.
Originally known as the Spread Eagle Hotel, it was a favored retreat for British army officers and tourists heading to or from Mount Kenya.
