Global cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has launched a new scholarship program targeting college and university students in Kenya and Ethiopia, with individual awards of up to Ksh 516,000 (USD 4,000).
The initiative, unveiled as part of Bybit’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, aims to empower young Africans through access to higher education, digital skills, and career advancement in the fast-evolving global economy.
“Bybit, the second largest cryptocurrency exchange globally in trading volume, today announced the launch of the Bybit Scholarship Program, a new CSR initiative designed to empower college and university students in Kenya and Ethiopia,” the company said.
“Through this initiative, Bybit reaffirms its commitment to education, youth development, and inclusive technological growth across Africa; recognizing education as a cornerstone of innovation, social progress, and economic growth.”
Bybit Opens Ksh 516K Scholarship Program for Kenyan and Ethiopian Students
The scholarship program, running from September 17 to October 17, 2025, is expected to support at least 100 students.
It will offer scholarships ranging from Ksh 12,900 (USD 100) to Ksh 516,000 (USD 4,000) based on financial need, academic performance, and potential for impact.
Speaking on the scholarship program, Wilson Ogheneovo, Africa Regional Manager at Bybit, said Africa’s young population is the driving force behind the continent’s innovation and growth.
“By investing in their education, we are not only supporting individual students but also contributing to building a stronger and more inclusive digital economy for the future,” he said.
