The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party National Elections Board (NEB) has announced a sensitization programme for registered party members and candidates ahead of the upcoming grassroot elections.
In a statement, NEB Chairperson Anthony Mwaura listed the dates, time, and venue where the exercise will be conducted in the
“In anticipation of Phase 1 of the UDA Grassroots Elections, scheduled for 26th April 2024, we are pleased to invite all registered aspirants, and both elected and nominated leaders from the Phase 1 Grassroot elections,” Mwaura said.
“This sensitization aims to equip you with the necessary knowledge and understanding on the election process.”
In Nairobi, UDA will sensitize party members at different Hustler Centres on April 19, 2024.
The exercise will be conducted in Lang’ata, Kibra, Dagoretti North and Dagoretti South from 9.00 am 10.00 am.
Between 11.00 am and 12.00 noon, UDA will educate voters in Kamkunji,Starehe,Westlands and Makadara.
The ruling party will then move to Kasarani, Roysambu, Ruaraka and Mathare between 1: 00p.m and 2:00p.m before spending another one hour in Embakasi North, Embakasi South, Embakasi Central, Embakasi East and Embakasi West.
“Your presence is vital, as it will allow for an open dialogue to address any inquiries or concerns, ensuring comprehensive awareness of election procedures and guidelines,” Mwaura added.
Training Other First Phase Counties
The training will be held in Homabay County at UDA Office Homabay Town Constituency on April 22 from 10:00a.m.
On the same day, the exercise will be conducted in West Pokot and Narok at Nasokol Girls Secondary School Kapenguria Constituency and Oloolunga Boys Narok south Constituency respectively.
“We extend our gratitude in advance for your cooperation and eagerly await your active participation in the training,” added the Chairperson.
The final phase of the party’s programme will be held in Busia County on April 23 at St. Cecilia Nangina Funyula Constituency from 10.00a.m.

UDA Election
The UDA elections will be conducted in four phases starting from April 26, 2024.
In the initial announcement by UDA Chairperson Cecily Mbarire the first phase included: Nairobi, Narok, West Pokot, Busia, Homabay, Isiolo and Garissa.
However, the party postponed the elections in Garissa and Isiolo to June 22 and August 24 respectively.
The second phase will be conducted on June 22 in 13 counties including Mombasa, Uasin Gishu, Nyandarua,Tharaka Nithi, Machakos and Kisii.

The others are Bungoma, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Wajir, Tana River,Kwale and Marsabit.
“Phase three which will be conducted on August 10 will be in the following counties: Kiambu, Embu, Kericho, Meru,Migori,Kakamega, Nyamira, Kitui,Elgeyo Marakwet, Samburu, Kajiado, Mandera, Kilifi, Murang’a and Lamu,” Mbarire said.
The last phase of the elections will be held on August 24 in Nakuru, Bomet, Nyeri, Kirinyanga, Baringo, Nandi, Turkana, Laikipia,Transzoia, Kisumu, Vihiga and Makueni.
Mbarire made the announcement after the National Steering Committee (NSC) meeting chaired by President William Ruto on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
