The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has issued a seven-day weather forecast for the period between May 28th to June 3rd, 2024.
The weatherman noted that rainfall reduction is likely to be experienced in the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, as well as the Rift Valley regions.
In a Monday, May 27th statement, Kenya Met noted that Coastal region, Northeastern and Northwestern parts of Kenya will experience extreme daytime temperatures of more than 30° Celsius.
Central Highlands on the other hand is expecting lower night temperatures of at least 10°C.
“Rainfall is expected over a few areas in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley,” reads part of a statement by the Kenya Met.
“High average daytime (maximum) temperatures of more than 30oC will be experienced in some parts of the Coast, North-eastern and North-western Kenya. Average night-time (minimum) temperatures will be low (less than 10oC) over some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley.

The areas include Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka-Nithi Counties.
Furthermore, Northeastern Kenya (Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo Counties) will anticipate sunny intervals throughout the day with partly cloudy nights while the Lowlands of Southeastern Kenya (Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta Counties) will expect sunny intervals during the day and partly cloudy nights.
Likewise, the Coastal Areas (Mombasa, Tana-River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties) will experience sunny intervals during the day with partly cloudy nights. However, occasional morning and afternoon showers may occur in isolated areas.
