Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has declared three unopposed aspirants as duly elected in August general elections.
The three candidates do not have competition in the various seats they are contesting, thence, the declaration by the commission that they have been rightfully elected.
Moreover, the gazette notice published by IEBC on Sunday, July 10, stated that Beatrice Kemei, Julius Kimutai, and Issa Aden will have an easy time winning their seats as they are unopposed aspirants.
Meanwhile, Julius Kimutai is the MCA for the Ravine; Beatrice Kemei is the Kericho Woman Representative on the UDA ticket; Issa Aden is the Sabena MCA in Garissa’s Lagdera Constituency on the National Agenda Party ticket.
In addition, as the area’s woman representative, Kemei will represent Kericho, while Kimutai and Aden will represent the Ravine and Sabena wards in the Baringo and Garissa County Assemblies, respectively.

Nonetheless, the three are now part of the group of politicians who were elected unopposed, including Moses Kuria of Gatundu South and Kimani Ichungwa of Kikuyu.
However, Kimani Ichungwa is not as lucky this time round as he is facing nine other candidates contesting for the seat he is fighting to retain.
At the same time, Moses Kuria who is eyeing the Kiambu gubernatorial seat, is also going into the polls against six other aspirants.
Furthermore, the gazette notice published by the electoral commission announced that more than 16,000 candidates will be on the ballot come August 9.
