Tanzanian rapper Mwana FA is now a Deputy Minister. He has been appointed Deputy Minister of Culture, Arts, and Sports by Tanzania’s President, H.E Samia Suluhu, a move that his colleagues in the music industry have received well.
The rapper, whose real name is Hamis Mohammed Mwinjuma , holds a master’s degree in finance from Coventry University, England. He doubled up as a member of Parliament for Muheza constituency and a board member of the country’s National Arts Council (BASATA).

The ‘We Endelea Tu’ hitmaker has been praised by his countrymen for his great leadership and is looked upon by many Tanzanian youths as a role model and a beacon of hope.
His appointment is timely since Tanzanian artists have yearned for an artist representative for the longest time. The news of his appointment was received with open arms by many in the music scene, including Billnas, Barnaba Classic, and Diamond Platinumz.
According to Tanzania Citizen, the rapper replaces Pauline Gekul, appointed deputy minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs.
While reacting on social media, Kenyans urged their president H.E William Ruto to emulate H.E Madam Samia regarding political appointees and hailed her as a straightforward leader. They applauded her move and wished the new appointees well in their new positions.
