Jose Chameleon, the iconic Uganda musician, left his fans puzzled as he locked lips with his brother Weasel on stage during a live performance!
The two brothers were performing at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala on Friday, the 24th of February. The concert organized by Chameleon was initially postponed after fierce winds destroyed the set-up. This did not deter the fans, who turned up in numbers to support the duo.
Chameleon, clad in medieval armour gave an electrifying performance to his highly anticipated audience. In a video making rounds online, the duo gave a breathtaking performance to their cheerful crowd. Chameleon removed his helmet, walked up to Weasel and the two locked lips as the crowd cheered them on.
Social media users were baffled by the action and questioned the significance of the kiss, terming it as weird and uncouth, some simply said it’s how the brothers show affection towards each other and urged people to stop overthinking the incident.

Their kissing, however, is not news as this is not the first time they have done this. While performing in Bujumbura Burundi in 2022, the two shocked revellers when they kissed in the middle of their performance. In November 2016 during a local concert in Kampala, Chameleon came on stage to replace Weasel, and the two kissed.
Uganda is known for its strict laws against homosexuality. Their kiss comes a month after the president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni stated that discussions around the LGBTQ community were unwelcome in Uganda.
“Don’t bring any more nonsense about this. I was in Washington, and this time the Americans organised the meeting well.”
They didn’t bring up issues about homosexuality. If they would have brought those we would have had problems,” he added.
