A new study has revealed that Viagra also known as the blue pill can improve brain health and reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease by 60 percent.
According to researchers from the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, Viagra (sildenafil), blocks the enzyme found in the brains of those who suffer from Alzheimer disease.
Reports by The Sun indicate that the study involved more than 27,000 people aged over 65 years from the United States of America.
Moreover, the research compared half of the participants who had been prescribed sildenafil with the remaining half.
“Findings showed that Viagra suppresses a protein called PDE5.In Alzheimer’s patients, PDE5 is “significantly increased” in the part of the brain that manages memory,” quotes The Sun.
Additionally, the study established that Viagra increases blood supply which improves brain health and can even treat dementia.
“We found sildenafil was significantly associated with a 60% lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease,” study author Xingyue Huo told The Sun.

Viagra, known as sildenafil, is among the medications used to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
If you have erection problems sildenafil works by temporarily increasing blood flow to your organ when you get sexually excited.
However, in pulmonary hypertension it works by relaxing blood vessels in the chest.
In addition, if you buy sildenafil for erectile dysfunction, the brand names Viagra can also be known as Aronix, Liberize and Nipatra.
For pulmonary hypertension, it can also be known by the brand names Revatio and Grandipam.
This medicine is available on prescription, and you can also buy it from most pharmacies. It comes as standard tablets, chewable tablets, and as a liquid that you swallow.

Alzheimer Brain Disorder
Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder characterized by changes in the brain that lead to deposits of certain proteins.

After she died, Dr. Alzheimer examined her brain and found many abnormal clumps (now called amyloid plaques) and tangled bundles of fibers (now called neurofibrillary, or tau, tangles).
