Azimio’s staunch supporter and fanatic Nuru Okanga broke his silence over reports that he joined Form One, having sat the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
In a media interview on January 23, 2024, Okanga claimed that he had joined St Aquinas Ebuchinga Day School in Kakamega County.
The Raila Odinga diehard urged the ODM party leader to facilitate his academic journey by paying his entire fees and rent to allow him concentrate on his studies.
“I plead with Raila to support this cause and pay my fees. We are his soldiers leading up to 2027. He should hold my hand during this entire political journey.
Wherever you are, know that I have joined Form One at a time when the economy is hard so cater to my needs and pay my fees and rent for a full year,” said Okanga.

During the address, Okanga also stated that he had delayed his Form One admission due to his engagements in corporate social responsibilities.
Nuru’s delayed admission
As Form One students reported to school on Monday, January 15 throughout the country, Okanga was busy donating books and other learning materials in programs funded by different stakeholders.
“People kept enquiring whether I would join Form One, but I stated that I was providing support to other students by providing books and pens and now finally I’m set to join,” he detailed.

Furthermore, the Azimio supporter didn’t shy away from lauding his wife for her support, revealing that she stood with him in prayers throughout the journey.
“My wife has no problem with it, she will even assist me on this journey. We’ve discussed and she confirmed that she would pray for my entire journey in school,” Okanga remarked.
Nuru further lauded the institution’s principal for welcoming him with open arms, despite reporting late to school.
He went on to claim that joining school would accord him ample opportunity to learn, keep up with the day-to-day politics and spend time with his family.
However, the Azimio supporter pinned an appeal to the institution’s management to allow him to leave the school by 4:00 pm instead of the normal 6:30 pm.
This, according to Nuru, will accord him the chance to tend to politics matters and also spend time with his family.
Okanga sits KCPE 2023
Following the release of the KCPE 2023 results, the Azimio fanatic Nuru spoke to The Kenya Times amid speculations about his actual score in the examinations.
In the phone conversations, Okanga said that he was satisfied with his results and that he scored 401 marks in the KCPE.
“The KCPE results are satisfactory,” he stated in response to a question on how he had performed.
However, The Kenya Times could not independently verify the marks.
Nuru Okanga did not immediately share screenshots of the SMS with the KCPE score as well even after calling him three times.
In addition, the popular Azimio supporter disclosed that he was looking forward to joining secondary school as soon as possible and tentatively in January.
When asked whether he was certain about the source of money for his school fees, Okanga affirmed that “God would provide”.
Furthermore, he reaffirmed his goal to seek an elective seat and particularly the Ward Representative seat in Kholera Ward, Matungu Constituency.
