Azimio la Umoja’s staunch supporter Nuru Okanga spoke to The Kenya Times amid speculations about his actual score in the concluded Kenya Certificate Primary Education (KCPE).
In the phone conversations, Okanga said that he was satisfied with his results and that he scored 401 marks in the KCPE.
“The KCPE results are satisfactory,” he stated in response to a question on how he had performed.
However, The Kenya Times could not independently verify the actual marks as the Kenya National Examination Council was not responding at the time.
Nuru Okanga did not immediately share screenshots of the SMS with the KCPE score as well even after calling him three times.
In addition, the popular Azimio supporter disclosed that he was looking forward to joining secondary school as soon as possible and tentatively in January.
When asked whether he was certain about the source of money for his school fees, Okanga affirmed that “God would provide”.
The staunch Azimio supporter also reaffirmed his goal to seek an elective seat and particularly the Ward Representative seat in Khorera Ward, Matungu Constituency.
Former Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa also congratulated Okanga noting that he was proud of his performance.
“Congratulations my friend Nuru Okanga for passing your KCPE exams with flying colors!” Wamalwa stated.
“Yours is an inspiring story of never being late to validate your dreams”.
Nuru Okanga was one of the over 1.4 million candidates who sat the KCPE exam in October.
In what took some Kenyans by surprise, Okanga registered as a candidate at the Mumias Muslim Primary School in Kakamega County.
He was once quoted saying that his desire to become a “prominent person” in the society had pushed him to consider going back to school.

KCPE gives Okanga Hope
According to him, sitting the KCPE exam would present to him an opportunity to join high school and continue with his education.
In a past interview, Okanga stated that his expectation was to score at least 250 out of the possible 500 marks.
Several politicians in the Azimio Coalition vowed to stand with him in his political ambitions.
Mumias East Member of Parliament PK Salasya, for instance, helped to construct a house for Nuru in his rural home in Western Kenya.
“I am preparing to begin going around to talk with the electorate very soon, I should prepare myself in advance,” Okanga said in a past event.

Okanga was thrust to the limelight during the campaigns preceding the 2022 elections and the anti-government protests staged by the Azimio la Umoja Coalition.
He was among the vocal supporters whose clips criticizing the government and vouching for the protests went viral.
At the age of 32, Nuru Okanga hoped that sitting for the KCPE afresh would rekindle his political ambitions.
