A man was beaten to death by an enraged mob that stormed Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital in Kisumu, ejecting him outside the facility before killing him.
The suspect is accused of mugging and killing a businesswoman on January 27 night.
However, on Sunday, January 28, a crowd went in pursuit of the suspect after he allegedly confessed to committing the act.
He then fled the crowd to seek refuge inside the hospital’s emergency room.
Regretfully, the crowd overwhelmed the hospital’s security and proceeded directly to the man’s hiding place and began beating him up.

“The culprit went up to the emergency area where he was caught up with the mob who were in pursuit.
“They overpowered our security team who pleaded with them not to kill the person within the hospital. They later carried the culprit and killed him outside the gate,” noted a witness.
Second Suspect Killed
Likewise, the second suspect who is allegedly part of a gang terrorizing Kisumu residents was smoked out of Kibuye market and lynched by the same mob.
According to boda boda riders, the gang members pose as riders in motorcycles with no number plates to carry out criminal activities in Kibuye area of Kisumu County.
As such, they claimed these culprits end up soiling the reputation of the local boda boda riders.

“Others are using motorbikes and are always in the company of three at night. If you find them, arrest them. If you see three people on a motorbike at night, they are not genuine boda boda operators,” lamented a boda boda rider.
The residents further called on security agencies to conduct a crackdown to identify criminals posing as boda boda riders.
Nonetheless, police officers intervened to bring order during the Sunday morning incident lobbing teargas canisters to disperse the mob.
