The family of Albert Ojwang, through their lawyer Julius Juma, has clarified receiving a Ksh10 million contribution from comedian Eric Omondi.
While speaking during a requiem mass in honor of Albert Ojwang held at Ridgeways Baptist Church in Kiambu County, the family denied receiving that amount.
“It has been shared or said on various media channels that the family of Mzee received Kh 10 million. I have been asked to set the record straight, and I am doing so in the pulpit. I know the consequences of lying. The family indeed did not receive the Ksh 10 million,” said the family lawyer.
According to the lawyer, the family only received Ksh 2 million from President William Ruto, Ksh 1 million from former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and Ksh 2 million from Kenyans following paybill contributions shared via social media.
“The family received a total of Ksh 5,060,000 and they appreciate each and every individual for standing with them, but I repeat it’s not true as it has been shared severally in various media channels that the family received Ksh million from one individual,” the lawyer added.

Omondi Felt Betrayed When Ojwang’s Father Accepted Ruto’s Contribution
In a recent video circulating on social media, Eric Omondi revealed that the total amount raised through his efforts was about Ksh 10 million.
“I have not included whatever is currently in the bank. We had reached KSh 2.6 million by last week. One thing is that people are still sending money. That KSh 2.6 million was raised on the day I posted about Albert’s father, so it means the amount accumulated within the following 24 hours. We are roughly at around KSh 10 million,” he said.

The comedian also cited betrayal from Albert’s father, Meshack Ojwanga after he recived Ksh 2 million contribution from President Wiliam Ruto.
“I was betrayed. I was disappointed. I was angered because we lost a brother, and he lost a son in the hands of a government agency. I just felt betrayed. We are fighting a course. Just a week later, someone else had been shot,” Omondi said
