The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced fuel prices for the July/August pricing cycle, which will take effect from July 15 to August 14.
In its monthly fuel price review released on Tuesday, July 14, EPRA said the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will remain unchanged.
“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene remain unchanged,” EPRA announced.
In Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will continue to retail at Kshs.214.03, Kshs.222.86 and Kshs.191.38 effective midnight for the next 30 days.
The latest fuel price review comes as global oil markets experienced renewed volatility over the past month.
After falling sharply in June when crude exports through the Strait of Hormuz recovered, international oil prices began rising again in early July following renewed hostilities in the Middle East.
Brent crude, which had dropped to about $68 per barrel in early July, rebounded to around $77 per barrel after fresh attacks in the Gulf reignited concerns over oil supply and shipping through the strategic waterway.

The market has also been closely watching production decisions by OPEC+ producers, which agreed to increase output starting in August while maintaining the flexibility to adjust production based on market conditions.
Kenya’s monthly fuel prices are largely determined by the landed cost of imported refined petroleum products, movements in the Kenya shilling against the US dollar, freight charges and applicable taxes, meaning changes in global energy markets often feed into local pump prices.
Previous June and July Fuel Price Review
In the previous pricing cycle covering June 15 to July 14, EPRA lowered the prices of Super Petrol and Diesel while keeping Kerosene unchanged.

Super Petrol was reduced by KSh0.22 per litre, while Diesel fell by KSh10.00 per litre. Kerosene remained unchanged.
As a result, motorists in Nairobi paid KSh214.03 per litre for Super Petrol, KSh222.86 for Diesel, and KSh191.38 for Kerosene.
EPRA said the prices were inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT), excise duty adjustments and other statutory levies provided for under the relevant tax laws.
The authority also announced that the government would continue cushioning consumers through the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) Fund.
“The prices are inclusive of the Value Added Tax (VAT), in line with the VAT Act, 2013 as read with the Legal Notice No. 70 dated 15th April 2022, the Finance Act, 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020,” EPRA said.
