“The state has reinstated part of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s security detail. In the same spirit, I urge the government to take the next honourable step and reinstate his employees as well. Justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done, “Thang’wa revealed.
Thang’wa revealed the statement after he accompanied the impeached Deputy President to a church in Kiambu County.

“Today, I had the honour of joining Deputy President Gachagua for the Sunday morning service at ACK Cathedral in Kiambu Town.
The provost delivered an inspiring sermon, encouraging us to keep praising, praying, and singing to the Lord,” the Kiambu Senator said.

In what seems to be a political undertone, the Kiambu Senator expressed optimism that Gachagua will overcome the court battles related to his impeachment.
“Just as He broke the walls and chains for Paul and Silas, God will also break our shackles and set us free,” Thang’wa’s statement read.

Leaders who accompanied Rigathi at the church function included Nyandarua Senator John Methu, Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu, and several Members of Parliament (MPs), including Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina, Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhia, Juja MP George Koimburi, Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara, Mukurweini MP John Kaguci, and Kajiado South MP Onesmus Ngogoyo.
Other leaders who accompanied Rigathi included Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru (Mejja Donk), Nominated MP Teresiah Wanjiru, MCAs from Kiambu, Murang’a, and Kirinyaga, as well as former Kakamega Senator and former UDA Secretary General Cleopas Malala, and former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, among others.
Rigathi’s Security Withdrawn
Thangwa’s statement comes days after Gachagua’s security detail was withdrawn while seeking treatment at the Karen Hospital.
On Sunday, October 20, Gachagua addressed the media within the vicinity of Karen Hospital and disclosed that his security was withdrawn while he was admitted to the facility.
He criticized the government for taking away his security while he was hospitalised.

“It is very unfortunate that when I was here in the hospital my brother and my friend President William Ruto ordered the withdrawal of my security from the hospital here.
He ordered the withdrawal of security guards in my rural home in Nyeri, in a private home in Karen and officers close to me were disarmed and warned not to associate with me,” Gachagua revealed.
At the same time, Gachagua said he was surprised by the actions President William Ruto has taken against him, noting that he stood by Ruto while the government was frustrating him during Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure.
“I did not know that President William Ruto could become that vicious. I am shocked by how vicious a man I helped to become president could be. A man I believed in. A man I was viciously persecuted for supporting could be so vicious while I am literally fighting for my life in hospital,” Gachagua further revealed.
