Medical reports presented at the Kibera Law Courts show that Kennedy Kalombotole, the suspect in the Kenyatta National Hospital murder case, suffers from multiple health conditions.
The report that was presented on July 24, 2025, states that he has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, epilepsy, and recurrent seizures.
According to the report, the health conditions are largely attributed to non-compliance with prescribed medication.
The court directed that the suspect be held under strict security at Mbagathi Hospital for medical observation during the 10-day detention period.
His lawyer, Zephaniah Achapa, urged the court to take into account his client’s worsening health condition and vulnerable social circumstances.
The prosecution told the court that the suspect has no identification documents, fixed place of residence, or known relatives, and requested that he be detained for an additional 10 days as the State works to establish his identity.
The suspect is linked to the brutal killing of a patient, Edward Maingi Ndegwa, which occurred on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
