President William Ruto has made more State appointments a day after a cabinet reshuffle.
In a dispatch from state house, Ruto appointed more allies of former President Uhuru Kenyatta two weeks after the leaders held talks in Ichaweri, Gatundu.Â
Notably, Ruto has named Former Gatanga Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth as  Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) chairman.
PK as he’s popularly known was part of AZIMIO team that backed former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s presidential bid in 2022.
In 20217, he unsuccessfully vied for Nairobi Gubernatorial seat, a race that Mike Sonko won. PK was hailed as the best MP in utilization of funds during his tenure as Gatanga lawmaker.Â
In addition, Ruto has tapped former Murang’a governor Mwangi Wa Iria.

According to the dispatch signed by Principal Administrative Secretary Arthur Osiya, Wa Iria will chair the board of Public Procurement Regulatory.
Wa Iria was also part of the Aimio brigade that drummed up support for Raila.Â
The dispatch said; “It is notified that His Excellency the President has effected additional appointments to the senior ranks of the Executive.
Ruto justifies appointments
It added, “These appointments include roles at the Central Bank of Kenya, the Executive Office of the President, and other key positions within the top governance organs of our State corporations/Agencies.”
According to the statement, “The appointments within the Executive Office of the President seek to augment the complement of personnel supporting the Head of State and Government in fulfilling the profound mandate vested in the nation’s foremost office.”
The dispatch concluded by saying, “These appointments have been made based on the recommendations of the Public Service Commission and in line with the laws governing each public office, as applicable.”

At the same time, Gerald Nyaoma Arita was appointed Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Kenya.Â
More advisors for the President
Ruto also named four advisors to the Executive Office of the President.
The four will also join the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.Â
They include Prof Adams Oloo, who will be in charge of strategy and communication, Silvester Okumu Kasuku, Governance, Major Retired Ali Mahat Somane Security Affairs and Joe Owaka Ager, who will be Secretary, Governance.

In addition, Noor Gabow will be Kenya’s Consulate in Haiti.Â
Bruno Oguda Obodha has been appointed Managing Director, East African Portland Cement.Â
Douglas Murei was named CEO, Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency.Â
