CFAO Mobility Kenya Limited has clarified reports on the acquisition and restructuring of DT Dobie & Company Kenya Ltd, confirming the successful integration of the two businesses under one entity.
As of March 31, 2023, the CFAO Group’s operations in Kenya consisted of three entities: CFAO Mobility Kenya (formerly CFAO Motors Kenya), DT Dobie, and LOXEA Kenya.
To streamline operations and strengthen its market presence, the company undertook an internal restructuring effective April 1, 2023.
Through this process, DT Dobie officially transferred its business assets to CFAO Mobility Kenya.
“In a move to streamline operations and strengthen its market offering, an internal restructuring was completed effective 1st April 2023. Through this strategic alignment, DT Dobie & Company Kenya Ltd officially transferred its business assets to CFAO Mobility Kenya. This consolidation marked the unification of both businesses under a single entity: CFAO Mobility Kenya Limited,” read the statement.
CFAO stated that the consolidation brought together the heritage and expertise of two respected automotive brands, enabling CFAO Mobility Kenya to expand its portfolio to include a wider range of globally recognized automotive marques previously sold and serviced by DT Dobie.
Currently, the company distributes 12 automotive brands and offers more than 21 vehicle models through a nationwide network of over 40 service centres, authorized dealers, and company-owned branches.

As part of legal requirements, DT Dobie & Company Kenya Ltd has since appointed a liquidator to oversee its winding down following the transfer of assets.
“With the seamless integration of DT Dobie’s operations into CFAO Mobility Kenya, DT Dobie & Company Kenya Ltd, as part of the legal requirement by law, has appointed a liquidator to ensure due process is followed when winding down the company,” read part of the statement.
For customers, the transition promises greater convenience, consistency, and access to a broader range of mobility solutions under one trusted brand.
CFAO Mobility Kenya has reiterated its commitment to delivering enhanced service, nationwide support, and an expanded lineup of vehicles and mobility solutions.

D.T. Dobie Liquidator Gives Directive to Creditors
D.T. Dobie & Company (Kenya) appointed the Official Receiver as Liquidator of the company’s assets.
In an insolvency notice issued by the High Court of Kenya on August 15, 2025, the Official Receiver confirmed that the process stems from a Special Resolution passed on June 3, 2025.
“Pursuant to the provisions of the Insolvency Act, take notice that the Official Receiver was appointed as Liquidator of the property of D.T. Dobie & Company (Kenya) Limited following a Special Resolution dated 3rd day of June 2025,” the notice read in part.
Creditors have been directed to submit their claims by filing Proof of Debts (Form No. 5) via the Business Registration Service portal at www.brsv2.ecitizen.go.ke on or before September 15, 2025. Claims must be submitted with full particulars, either personally or through advocates.
The notice further warned that creditors who fail to file by the deadline risk exclusion from any distributions made before their debts are proved.
