More than 150 investors, business leaders, policymakers, and private-sector stakeholders from 10 nationalities are taking part in the 2026 Uganda and Rwanda Trade and Investment Roadshow organized by Equity Group.

In a statement dated September 14, 2026, Equity Group said the Uganda leg of the roadshow focuses on identifying business and investment opportunities, strengthening economic ties, and creating connections between businesses, investors, and key partners.

The program brings together African and international investors to explore Uganda’s investment landscape and cross-border opportunities in agriculture, mining, manufacturing, trade and coffee.

“The roadshow aims to unlock business and investment opportunities, strengthen economic ties, and connect businesses and investors with key partners across the region,” the statement read in part.

Uganda Targets Investment in Value Addition

Uganda’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon. Sanjay Tanna, said economic transformation requires stronger investment in value addition, manufacturing, innovation and skills.

He also called for deeper collaboration between the government and financial institutions to support businesses and investment.

Tanna praised Equity Bank’s contribution to Uganda’s financial services sector and encouraged greater community outreach, financial literacy and bookkeeping support for small and micro businesses.

He said the government is prepared to reduce barriers to investment, lower the cost of capital and create an environment that supports investment and job creation.

The program includes a Uganda Coffee Value Chain Roundtable with Neumann Kaffee Gruppe and Volcafe, where participants will examine opportunities across the sector.

Business leaders and investors are also taking part in networking sessions, sector discussions and site visits designed to provide exposure to businesses and value chains operating in Uganda.

Equity Links Businesses to Regional Markets

Equity Bank Uganda Executive Director Claver Serumaga said the roadshow reflects the bank’s focus on facilitating cross-border trade and investment.

“Uganda does not lack opportunity; need connect to the right capital/markets/technology/partnerships; move beyond financing; capture value through processing, tech, branding, regional/global markets; roadshow brings businesses/investors/policymakers/markets together to create partnerships/transactions/investment; growth/value retention grows economy.”

Serumaga said the program is intended to go beyond financing by connecting businesses with markets, technology and strategic partnerships.

Participants are engaging through business forums, sector deep-dives, networking sessions and site visits, including a coffee-focused visit to Zigoti Coffee Farm.

Other businesses included in the site visits are JNL Industries and Roofings Uganda Limited.

Equity Group Associate Director of Trade Relations Mahvish Malik said trade missions can help businesses build relationships, identify markets and establish commercial partnerships.

“Trade missions provide a platform for relationships, markets, and commercial collaboration. Unlocking requires taking businesses into markets, connecting the right people, and understanding opportunities; missions curate business/government engagements, value-chain experiences, and market linkages; Uganda has significant potential.”

The business forum also brings together government officials, industry experts, and private-sector leaders to discuss policies, market opportunities, the investment environment, and ways to scale businesses.

Roadshow to Continue in Rwanda

Discussions during the Uganda leg are also examining opportunities for businesses to enter new markets and contribute to broader economic transformation.

The program is designed to connect investors and businesses with policymakers, industry leaders and other private-sector stakeholders as they assess potential areas for commercial collaboration.

The Uganda phase of the roadshow is scheduled to conclude on September 16, 2026.

Delegates will then travel from Entebbe to Kigali, Rwanda, where the second phase of the Uganda and Rwanda Trade and Investment Roadshow will continue.
