Portraits of the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya William Ruto will be sold at Sh300.
In an announcement on Thursday, Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna said they will be available at the Department of Information in Uchumi House 5th floor, Nairobi.
“Following the inauguration into office of H.E Hon. William Samoei Ruto, as the President of the Republic of Kenya, we wish to inform our people that presidential portraits are now available,” he said in a tweet.
Oguna added that individuals in counties can collect the presidential portraits from County and Sub county information offices at the same price.
Following the change of guard in the country and William Ruto becoming head of state, it is expected that all government offices hang his portrait in their premises.
It is a tradition that dates as far back as the 1960s but there is no law compelling Kenyans to have them hung.
However, most businesses have them displayed in their premises.
The portrays will also be displayed in all Kenyan foreign embassies and missions across the world.
The portrait is also hanged on the presidential dais in all functions presided over by the President
