The famous dance group from Uganda, Ghetto Kids made history on Saturday by securing a golden buzzer at the 16th season of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) show.
The golden buzzer, a highly sought-after prize for contestants aiming for prize money in the competition, automatically grants the recipient a place in the live rounds (Semi-Finals).
During their performance, the group of five wore green African attire and shared a heartwarming story of how they rose to fame through dance. Judge Bruno Tonioli was so impressed by their stellar performance that he remained restless with joy and even attempted to match some of their moves.

As a younger girl joined the team midway, Judge Tonioli was emotionally overwhelmed and enthusiastically pressed the golden buzzer, causing confetti to rain down on the stage and the crowd to applaud. The judges were unanimous in their praise, with Simon Cowell describing the performance as “magical.”
The Ghetto Kids, a team of 30 children, are sheltered in an orphanage in Kampala, Uganda, where the orphanage director Kavuma Dauda uses music, dance, and drama to improve their lives. The group gained fame in 2014 with their appearance in Eddy Kenzo’s Sitya Loss song and have since performed on global stages, including the BET awards and Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice awards.
