Kisii University has announced that the final deadline for session reporting has been set for Friday, 14th November 2025.
The announcement followed a decision by the Deans Committee during its meeting on Thursday, November 6.
“The Deans Committee meeting during its sitting on Thursday, 6th November 2025 resolved that the session reporting deadline be extended for one extra week,” read part of the statement.
All students who have not yet reported are urged to take advantage of this extension to register their units and complete the session reporting process.
Kisii University Announces Extension for Session Reporting
University officials have warned that no further extensions will be granted, and students who fail to report by the deadline will be required to defer their studies.
The university’s ICT department has been instructed to facilitate the reporting and registration process, ensuring smooth operations during this period.
Students are advised to act promptly to avoid disruption to their academic progress.
“Kindly note that after this deadline, there will be no further extension. Students who will not have reported and registered units will be forced to defer their studies. Therefore, take note and act accordingly,” read the notice.
Other Universities That Will Resume Academic Activities
JKUAT has also requested all students to report back to the university on Friday, 7th November 2025, following the calling off of the industrial action by the Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU) and the Kenya University Staff Union (KUSU).
The university confirmed that classes will resume on Monday, November 10, 2025, to make a smooth continuation of academic programs after the recent disruption.
JKUAT Officials thanked students for their patience and understanding during the industrial action and urged them to resume attendance promptly to avoid any academic setbacks.
“Following the calling off of the industrial action by the Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU) and the Kenya University Staff Union (KUSU), all students are hereby requested to report back to the University on Friday, 7th November 2025,” read the notice.

Egerton And KU Resumption Dates
Egerton University has also announced that normal academic activities will resume following the successful signing of the “Return to Work Formula”, bringing an end to the recent industrial action.
Accordingly, classes are set to officially resume on Monday, 10th November 2025.
The university expressed appreciation for the patience and understanding shown by students during the disruption and stressed its commitment to ensuring a smooth continuation of the semester.
At Kenyatta University, the Registrar (Academic), Prof. Bernard Kivunge, has announced that all First-Semester activities for the 2025/2026 academic year will resume on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Students have been urged to report without fail.

Deal with the Ministry of Education
The resumption notices followed the signing of a Return-to-Work Formula (RTWF) on Wednesday, November 5, by UASU and the Inter-Public Universities Councils’ Consultative Forum (IPUCCF), restoring normal operations in all public universities and constituent colleges.
The agreement, witnessed by university officials at the Ministry of Education, guarantees the reinstatement of all staff, protection from victimisation, and full payment of withheld salaries and benefits.
Under the deal, UASU agreed to immediately call off the strike, while IPUCCF committed to withdrawing all disciplinary measures issued during the industrial action.
