The Commission for University Education (CUE) has published a list of institutions that are not authorized to offer university education in Kenya.
In a notice on January 20, CUE advised students to verify the accreditation status of universities, academic programmes, and the recognition or equation of qualifications before applying to any institution of learning.
“For the avoidance of doubt, any institution operating as a university or offering degree programmes that does not appear on the CUE list of approved institutions is illegal, and qualifications obtained from such institutions will not be recognized in Kenya,” read part of the statement.
