Kenyan Musician Wilson Abubakar Radido alias Willy Paul or Willy Poze has revealed that he attended a church service for the first time since the year 2017.
Willy Paul noted that he stopped going to places of worship in subsequent years because the Church wronged.
“I’ve not been to church since 2017 because the church wronged me,” Willy Paul wrote on Tik Tok.
He also expressed his relief after attending a church service in Embakassi on Sunday, January 28 noting that he is bound to have a good year.
“Yesterday, I attended a church service in Embakassi and I now feel so relieved. I am going to have the best year since I started mine in church,” he said.
Tik Tok users were quick to respond to his revelation with one of them asking him to a shame the devil by releasing one gospel song.
Willy Paul Says Why He Left the Gospel Industry
Willy Paul hit the headlines a while back when he ditched the gospel industry to secular music in 2021.
He addressed questions as to why he made the move on his Instagram, saying there was too much hatred and hypocrisy in the gospel industry.
The Sitolia hit maker attributed his transition to people who were working hard to bring him down leading to stress and depression.

“Some ask me why I left the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ… and even call me names because I no longer praise Jesus in my songs. According to them, I am very evil, and everything is wrong.
“Those are the same people who fought for me when I was on the side of Jesus. Reasons why I left include hatred from fellow artists and DJs, my songs not being played on air (claiming my content was not godly at that time), discrimination, and favoritism,” he stated then.
The Saldido International Entertainment CEO also noted that some people failed to accept he was a big name in gospel industry and ended up hurting him so deeply.

Furthermore, the artist said the stress, frustrations and depression got to a point where he could not pay his bills.
“I had no money to pay my bills and even help out pale nyumbani. Can you imagine I had the biggest songs na hawa watu wakanichorea hivo tu (ignored me just like that). I’m not perfect but what I went through as a gospel artist, no servant of God should go through,” he added.
However, he explained that his life changed after joining secular music.
“These people broke my heart! They hurt me so badly, I was depressed for 4months I kept crying in silence every single day and night. It got to a point where I couldn’t take it anymore.

“Since I loved music and had bigger hopes with my career, I chose the other side, which is where I am today, and that’s what has kept me alive and stable. I was tired of the hypocrisy in the so-called Gospel industry,” he stated.
The musician explained that he also wanted to be real with himself and not lie to God.
“Plus, I just wanted to be real with myself and not lie to God! God cannot be fooled, so I took a chill pill na sai niko hapa. Same people that didn’t want me there were the first to reach out,” he said.
Since joining the secular world Willy Song has released several songs including a collabo with Jamaican American singer Alaine Laughton (I Do), Tanzanian artist Harmonize (Pilipil) and Tanzanian bongo queen Nandy (Njiwa).
