Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia’s overnight assault involved more than 390 drones and 34 missiles of various types, including ballistic and cruise missiles.
In a statement on March 24, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attack caused widespread damage, with 11 regions reporting destruction.
“In total, there were over 390 strike drones and 34 missiles of various types – ballistic, cruise, and guided air-launched missiles. Overall, damage has been reported in 11 regions,” Zelenskyy said.
According to Zelenskyy, residential buildings were damaged in Zaporizhzhia and Poltava, while fires broke out in affected areas.
Nearly 40 drones targeted the city of Shostka in the Sumy region, and a separate drone strike hit an electric train in Slatyne, Kharkiv region.
At least four people were confirmed dead, with dozens more injured, including children.
Zelenskyy called for increased air defense support, stressing the need for the timely implementation of existing agreements and enhanced production of air defense systems across Europe to counter ongoing attacks.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast Governor Ivan Fedorov said at least one person was killed and five others injured, including in a drone strike on the city.
He added that six apartment buildings, two residential homes, and an industrial facility were damaged and caught fire.
In Poltava, regional Governor Vitaliy Dyakivnych reported damage to several residential buildings and a hotel. At least two people were killed, and 11 others were injured in the attack.

Ukraine Attack on Russia
Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador Rodion has said that Miroshnik stated that the total number of casualties so far is 133, which includes 119 people who were injured during Ukraine’s attack.
“In the past week, 133 civilians were affected by the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attacks, of which 119 people, including 10 minors, were injured and 14 people were killed,” he said.
The regions most affected are Belgorod, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Bryansk, where civilian areas and infrastructure were hit by drones, rockets, and artillery.

Drone attacks accounted for the majority of the casualties, with about 87 per cent of those affected linked to unmanned aerial vehicle strikes.
Russian authorities also alleged that drones were used to plant explosive devices in civilian locations.
Additional incidents were reported in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, where four civilians were injured, including two hurt by an explosion at a cemetery.
In the Kherson region, a civilian vehicle reportedly struck a mine, leaving the driver wounded.
