Harban Singh owned Safaricom House, Eka Hotel, and Sky Park Plaza. Singh was a close ally of the late President Daniel Arap Moi and one of the wealthiest individuals in Kenya.

Eka Hotel is located along Mombasa Road, near Cabanas, Nairobi. It is conveniently located near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), approximately a 10-minute drive away, and is also close to Nairobi National Park and the Southern Bypass junction.

Singh owned the land and buildings that now house Safaricom’s headquarters, Safaricom House, along Waiyaki Way in Westlands, Nairobi.

Reports also indicate that Safaricom also uses nearby buildings, such as Sky Park Plaza, which is also owned by the businessman.

Singh owned several businesses in the fishing, horticulture, construction, aircraft, and real estate sectors.

He made most of his wealth through winning tenders during the Moi regime.

Some of the notable projects he undertook include the construction of Moi Girls’ High Schools across Kenya, Kabarak Schools and University, Sunshine Secondary, and Moi Educational Centre (MEC).

Sky Park Plaza

Singh owns Sky Park Plaza, formerly known as Sky Plaza.

The building is a modern office complex along Waiyaki Way, Westlands, Nairobi, near ABC Place.

It is just a few minutes from Safaricom House.

The design was created by BAA, and construction was finished in 2011.

How Harban Singh Constructed View Park Towers

View Park Towers is a 20-floor building located along Uhuru Highway, adjacent to Utalii House in Nairobi CBD.

Singh constructed the Towers at Ksh300 million and sold them to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) at Ksh900 million.

Rehema Apartments

Singh was also involved in the construction of Rehema Flat along Rhapta Road in Nairobi.

He was also commissioned to construct Rehema House, a building for the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya.

Chelsea Park Apartments

The Apartment is also located on Rhapta Road and was built on land owned by Singh.

Chelsea Park Apartments is a three-bedroom unit that was rented out for around Ksh140,000 per month, while the purchase price was around Ksh28 million.

Singh is also reported to be the brain behind the construction of the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) silos.

Aquilla Flower Farm

He also owned the 300-acre Aquilla flower farm, which sits along Lake Naivasha.

This is where he practised the horticulture business.

Other Businesses

Singh also owned the Oltukai Lodge located in the Amboseli National Park.

He was forced to purchase a hangar at Wilson Airport due to his interest in the tourism industry.

Singh also operated a shipping business in Kisumu, which he later allowed his sons to manage.

He also owned several pieces of land in Nairobi, including seven acres in Upper Hill, a prime location.

Singh sold a parking space in Nairobi CBD to the Kenya Methodist University.

He died in 2016, leaving behind three sons.
