BIOGRAPHY
Miguna Miguna is a lawyer, politician, a writer and an author of several books.
Education Background
Miguna Miguna started his early education at Apondo Primary School in Magina village, Nyando and later joined Njiri School in Muranga for higher education.
Miguna later proceeded to University of Nairobi where he became a student leader in 1986 to 1987 before being arrested and detained in-communicado.
He was later released and expelled from the University of Nairobi together with some of his colleagues for championing multi-party democracy.
Miguna fled to Tanzania, then Swaziland before being granted political asylum in Canada in June 1988.
He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Toronto in June 1990; a Juris Doctor (JD) from The Osgoode Hall Law School of York University in June 1993; and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree, with distinction, from The Osgoode Hall Law School in June 2001.
Miguna was admitted to the Ontario Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in February 1995 and as an Advocate in Kenya in 2008.

Between 2006 and 2009, Miguna served as a senior adviser and chief strategist for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and its party leader, Raila Odinga.

Miguna Miguna was born in Magina, Kisumu County on December 31st, 1962, in Kenya. He is married to Jane Miguna. Not much is in the limelight about his family
Miguna Miguna Career
Miguna Miguna obtained full membership to the ODM Party in the year 2007 and was actively involved in their Campaigns.
In 2009 to 2011, Miguna was the senior adviser on coalition, constitutional and legal affairs to the then Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya.
He also served as the Joint Secretary to the Permanent Committee on the Management of Grand Coalition Affairs, represented the ODM and Raila Odinga during the constitutional review process in addition to participating in other important functions of state and government.
Miguna Miguna is also the founding partner of KMM Lawyers which is a dynamic international and multijurisdictional law firm with its offices in Toronto and Kenya.
He unsuccessfully vied for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2017 and was a fierce critic of then President Uhuru Kenyatta.
