The Kenya Pipeline Corporation (KPC) has announced internship openings for Kenyan youth who graduated in 2021 or 2022.
In an advert published on its website, KPC noted that the internships are aimed at supporting the Government’s Youth Initiative to develop a pool of young talent for the Kenyan Labour Market.
Further, the internships, according to the advert, will last for one year during which the youth will have an opportunity to acquire practical aspects of their respective areas of specialization.
Fifty opportunities are open within the various departments with the Company seeking qualified graduates in disciplines including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering and Civil Engineering).
In addition, Kenya Pipeline will be recruiting qualified graduates in Communications and Public Relations, Chemical Engineering, Accounting, and Finance.
Other fields announced in the notice are Law, Information Technology, Project Management, and Human Resource.
Requirements for Kenya Pipeline internship opportunities
To qualify, candidates will be required to meet several conditions for the internship opportunities including proof of Kenyan citizenship, and a degree from recognized University, having graduated in 2021 or 2022.
In addition, interested candidates will be required to confirm availability throughout the internship duration and be below the age of 26 years.
Applications are running, with the deadline set on November 9.

How to apply
As per the notice, all applications will be submitted online through the company’s website. Candidates will be required to first register on the Kenya Pipeline e-recruitment portal before proceeding with the application process as guided by the instructions outlined in the Training manual on the website.
In the instructions published in the notice, the corporation warned that only complete applications will be considered in the vetting phase.
Similarly, the company noted that only successful candidates would be contacted and warned Kenyans against falling for unofficial communication regarding the opportunities.
Kenya Pipeline was categorical that it does not charge any fee for the process and advised candidates verify any suspicious communication regarding the advert with the KPC Human Resource Office.

The announcement came a day after Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria announced plans to recruit 20,000 interns.
In a speech while addressing a Human Resource function, Kuria noted that the government was committed to addressing the problem of unemployment among the youth.
As such, he noted the government would lead in efforts to absorb as many youths as possible in jobs both in the private and public sector.
In addition, Kuria announced to introduce a job portal to ensure transparency in the hiring process.
