The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has issued a public clarification after a job advert surfaced online, purporting to announce a mass recruitment exercise for Game Rangers and Game Wardens across the country.
The notice stated that there were hundreds of openings for positions, including Ranger Cadets (Job Group F) and Game Wardens (Job Group J).
However, KWS via its official communication channels on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, flagged the job advert as fake, urging the public to be cautious and adding that all genuine job announcements are published exclusively on the official KWS website: www.kws.go.ke, verified social media pages, and mainstream national newspapers.
The agency also urged Kenyans to report suspicious recruitment messages via toll-free number: 0800 597 000 and email: [email protected].
“Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) warns the public against fake recruitment messages circulating on social media and other social platforms. These messages are false and do not originate from the Service. Currently, no recruitment is ongoing. The documents being shared are fraudulent and should be ignored,” KWS stated.
