The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has announced various job positions under its program called The Empowering Novel Agribusiness Led Employment (ENABLE) Youth Kenya Program on September 17.
The program aims to contribute to job creation, food security and nutrition, income generation, and improved livelihoods for youths in both urban and rural areas.
Additionally, the Program focuses on the entire Agriculture Value Chain from production, processing, value addition: input supplies, and marketing in the following specific value chains targeted; Poultry, Vegetables, Dairy, Beef, Pasture, Mushroom, Pig, and Fish.
The recruitment will target two categories namely: Standard Incubatee and Accelerated Incubatee.
Standard Incubatee requirements
Under Standard Incubatee category, youth agripreneurs applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:
- Their business should have an annual turnover of less than Ksh 500,000.
- They should be actively running an agribusiness venture with an Annual Tum Over of above Ksh 500,000.
- They must be willing and available to be capacity-built and/or funded to attain economic viability.
- They should be having a running Agribusiness.
- They should hold academic certificates in either a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree from a recognized institution.
Successful candidates under the Standard Incubatee category will undergo incubation and training for a period not exceeding 3 months.

Accelerator Incubatees requirements
On the other hand, accelerator incubatees are expected to meet the following requirements:
- They should be actively running an agribusiness venture with an annual turnover of above Ksh 500,000.
- The incubate must be willing and available to be capacity-built and/or funded to upscale their business.
- They should have been in operation for a period exceeding 12 months.
- They should hold academic certificates in either a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree from a recognized institution.
Successful applicants under this category will undergo incubation and training for a period not exceeding 3 months.
Additional Requirements
All applicants in both categories are also expected to meet the following requirements:
- They must be Kenyan citizen with a National ID, Aged between 18-35 Years
- They should meet all integrity requirements.
Moreover, the ENABLE Youth Kenya Program is committed to implementing Affirmative Action. In this regard, Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) and those from marginalized groups with requisite qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
Furthermore, projects in Value Addition, Aggregation, Marketing, Agricultural Services, and Distribution will be highly considered.

Candidates are required to submit their applications not later than 31 October 2024.
During the time of application, candidates are also encouraged to indicate whether they are Standards or Accelerators based on the criteria provided.
