The Narok County Public Service Board has announced 150 vacancies for the position of Game Ranger and 30 Game Wardens.
In a notice on August 6, the Board said the recruitment exercise will take place from 8th to 18th September 2025.
Candidates applying for the position of Game Ranger must be Kenyan citizens with a valid National Identity Card and a minimum of KCSE Grade D- (Minus).
They must possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct and be computer literate with no criminal record.
Interested applicants must be aged between 18 and 28 years, physically and mentally fit, and have good hearing and clear vision.
They must also be at least 5 feet 4 inches tall for men and 5 feet 2 inches tall for women
Female candidates must also not be pregnant at the time of recruitment or during initial training
Besides, the applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (Leadership and Integrity) and Article 232 (Values and Principles of Public Service)
Successful applicants will undergo a paramilitary training course lasting not less than six (6) months, sponsored by the Narok County Government.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Maintain the security of wildlife and prevent poaching.
- Safeguard tourists and perform various parade duties.
- Undertake sentry duties, manning report and inquiry offices.
- Investigate wildlife-related crimes and preserve crime scenes.
- Track and recover illegal wildlife products.
- Collect intelligence and interrogate suspects.
- Compile environmental and conservation crime statistics.
- Compiling nominal rolls.
- Prepare nominal rolls and undertake patrols and escort duties.
- Participate in rescue operations.
The recruitment exercise is free of charge. Bribery and corruption are criminal offences. Individuals engaging in such acts will be disqualified and prosecuted.
Narok County Recruitment Schedule
The Narok County Public Service Board will conduct recruitment across various sub-counties starting at 8:00 a.m. at each venue for 10 days.
In Narok Central, recruitment will take place on September 8, 2025, at Ole Ntimana Stadium.
The recruitment will be held on September 9, 2025, at Olokurto Primary School in Narok North.
In Narok East, the exercise will be on September 10, 2025, at Nairagie Enkare DEB.
The the recruitment will be conducted on 11th September 2025 at Ololulunga Sub-County Headquarters in Narok South.

Candidates in Narok West should be present at Olchekut Supat Secondary School (OSAS) on September 12 to participate.
In Amalo, recruitment will take place on September 15 at Sogoo High School.
Recruitment in Transmara South is scheduled for September 18 at Ilkarian Primary School.
In Transmara West, the exercise will be on September 16 at Kilgoris DEB.
In Transmara East, it will be on September 17 at Emurua Dikirr Primary School.
“Recruitment will only take place at the designated venues and on the scheduled dates,” the Board said.
Prospective candidates must present an Original National Identity Card, KRA PIN Certificate, and original academic certificates, along with relevant testimonials.

Game Wardens
The Narok Public Service Board also invited applications to fill the position of Game Warden III (Cadet).
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Wildlife Management, Environmental Management, Forestry, Tourism Management, Environmental Science, Botany and Zoology. Ecology, Counselling and Psychology, Animal Health, Criminology. Law, Risk and Disaster Management, Government and Public Administration, Human Resource Management, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Interested candidates must be Kenyan citizens, possess a valid National Identification Card, have no criminal record, and present a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
Recruits must be aged 22-30 years, while those serving should hold the rank of Ranger or Corporal
Additionally, they should be physically and medically fit with good hearing and clear vision.
They must also be proficient in computer applications.
Be at least 5 feet 4 inches tall for men, and 5 feet 2 inches tall for women. Female candidates must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment or during training.

Applicants who meet the above requirements should download and complete the application form NRK-CPSB [3] [REVISED 2025) (CADET) available on the Narok County Government website http://www.narok.go.ke.
Submit the completed form along with Curriculum Vitae (CV), a Copy of National Identity Card or Passport, academic and professional certificates, and relevant testimonials via email to [email protected].
The application should be submitted on or before August 26, 2025, at 5:00 pm (East African Time).
All sections of the application form must be fully completed. Successfully shortlisted candidates will be notified through print media and are required to report at Ole Ntimama Stadium on September 19, 2025, at 8:00 am for the final phase of the interview.
