Standard Group PLC has announced a fresh recruitment drive, opening new career opportunities across several regions in Kenya.
In a notice on October 1, 2026, the company announced vacancies for multi-skilled correspondents in Nairobi, Coast, Central Kenya, Eastern, Northeastern, Rift Valley, Nyanza, and Western.
Standard Group PLC is a multimedia organization with operations spanning newspaper publishing, television, radio broadcasting, and digital and online services.
“Our various media platforms include The Standard Newspaper, KTN, Radio Maisha, Spice FM, The Nairobian and Berur FM,” the company indicated.
The role supports the company’s Converged Newsroom, and successful candidates are expected to produce content across digital, television, radio, and print platforms.
According to Standard Group PLC, the position involves sourcing, researching, verifying, developing, and producing accurate and balanced news and multimedia content. Correspondents will also contribute to the newsroom’s editorial agenda, creative storytelling, audience engagement, and timely content delivery.
It further stated that the role requires adherence to journalistic ethics, editorial policy, and professional standards while producing content for its different media platforms.
The recruitment covers eight regions, giving applicants the opportunity to apply for positions based on the region.
“Regions: Nairobi, Coast, Central Kenya, Eastern, Northeastern, Rift Valley, Nyanza and Western,” the Standard Group notice stated.
Standard Group Job Qualifications and Experience
The notice says applicants for the multi-skilled correspondent positions should hold a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Candidates must also have 2–3 years of proven experience in a similar role, indicating the positions are intended for applicants with prior professional experience.
Standard Group further requires candidates to have strong knowledge of television production processes, tools, and technologies. This includes understanding the technical aspects of producing content for broadcast platforms.
Successful candidates should have strong communication skills and be proficient in both English and Kiswahili, reflecting the linguistic requirements of the newsroom and its audiences.
Applicants should also have deep knowledge of at least one of the key subject areas covered by the newsroom. These include national affairs, economics, politics, culture, entertainment, lifestyle and sports. The notice also recognizes in-depth and investigative reporting skills as relevant expertise.
The company is seeking candidates who are creative and innovative and understand the importance of editorial standards in news production. Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of accuracy, balance and journalistic ethics.

Candidates should also have practical knowledge of cameras, audio and recording equipment, editing suites and other basic broadcast production requirements. These skills support the production of multimedia content across television, radio, digital, and print platforms.
