Voting materials have arrived in Kakamega County, ahead of the preparations for Monday, August 29 gubernatorial elections.
The voting materials were transported to all 12 constituencies in Kakamega County on Sunday, August 28 morning.
Moreover, IEBC Returning Officer Joseph Ayata reported that all the equipment will be at respective constituencies by Sunday afternoon in preparations of the exercise that will see voters decide Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s successor.
Nonetheless, Kakamega County has a total of 844,709 registered voters who will be voting for their preferred candidate.
Likewise, politicians seeking the counties top seat include; Cleophas Malala of ANC, Fernandez Baraza of ODM, Cyrus Jirongo of UDP and Samuel Omukoko of MDP party.
Similarly, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will oversee gubernatorial polls in Mombasa County.
Moreover, Parliamentary elections will also take place in Kitui Rural, Kacheliba, Pokot South Constituency and Rongai Constituencies.

Likewise, elections for Member of County Assembly Wards will also take place in Kwa Njenga and Nyaki West on the same day.
Nevertheless, voting for the various seats in the aforementioned areas were postponed by the electoral commission due to errors that were made while printing the ballot papers.
Moreover, the elections were first postponed to August 23rd until the IEBC chairman announced that they had moved the voting process to August 29.
Wafula Chebukati cited harrasment and intimidation of employee as the reason for postponement.
