Ferdinand Wanyonyi is a Kenyan politician and a member of parliament representing Kwanza Constituency in Trans Nzoia County.
He was elected in the 2013 general elections as a member of parliament, where he has served to date under the FORD-K Party.
Educational Background
Ferdinand Wanyonyi began his educational journey at Misikhu Primary School in Webuye, where he earned his Certificate of Primary Education.
He later attended Kibabii High School, completing his O‑Level studies and then advanced his academic pursuits, joining Maseno School for his A‑Level education.
Thereafter, he attended the University of Nairobi, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Economics.

Career Before Politics
Following his university education, Wanyonyi entered the workforce in 1977 as an Accounts Trainee with Kenya Posts & Telecommunications.
Shortly thereafter, he joined the East Africa Building Society as an Accounts Clerk, before taking on the role of Country Sales and Administrative Manager at Bayer (East Africa) between 1979 and 1981.
From 1981 to 1993, he held various managerial positions at Kodak Kenya Ltd.
Subsequently, he ventured into private business from 1993 to 2003, and in 2003, Wanyonyi transitioned into public administration, becoming Deputy Managing Director at the Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority.
He was then promoted in 2005 to Managing Director of the Lake Basin Development Authority, where he served until 2007.
By 2008, he had established himself in the private sector as Executive Director and Chairman of both Sawa Photo Studio Ltd and Photo Inn Studio Ltd.
Parliamentary Career
In March 2013, Ferdinand Wanyonyi shifted to elective politics, securing the Member of Parliament seat for Kwanza Constituency.
He successfully retained his seat in the 2017 and 2022 general elections, representing FORD‑Kenya.
During his time in Parliament, he served on the Departmental Committee on Agriculture and Livestock and the National Government Constituencies Development Committee.
