Innocent Mugabe is the Member of Parliament for Likuyani Constituency in Kakamega County after winning the seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket in 2022.
ODM party handed Mugabe, a former Mombasa County government chief officer a direct ticket to run for Likuyani parliamentary seat.
Mugabe, who also worked as a lecturer at the Technical University of Mombasa, was initially the running mate for the ODM governorship candidate in Kakamega County.
He then stepped down for Ayub Savula, who was also eyeing the governor’s seat.

Mugabe attended his basic primary education in Bondeni Primary School, where he sat for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
He later joined Eshikulu Secondary School and attained his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate.

Mugabe pursued a Bachelor of Tourism at Moi University.
Career history
From the year 2007, when he began his first job, Innocent Mugabe worked with the Kenya Commercial Bank as a sales team leader up to 2009.
Moving from his previous workplace, he joined the Technical University of Mombasa, where he served as a lecturer and the head of department.
Further advancing his career, he served as the Chief Officer in the County Government of Mombasa before receiving the ODM party’s direct ticket to vie for his current parliamentary seat.
As the Likuyani MP, he has been able to run several programs, including his collaboration with Consult Centre Ltd, a private educator recruitment agency, which organised a sensitisation event for teachers from Likuyani who were interested in working abroad, where over 270 teachers turned up.

He has actively participated in ODM events, including the Western Region Convention, which brought together grassroots leaders from the Western region.
