Benjamin Gathiru, famously known as Mejja Donk, is a Kenyan politician and a Member of Parliament representing Embakasi Central Constituency.
He is known for being re-elected as a Member of Parliament in the 2022 general elections. After serving in the previous term under the UDA Party.

Benjamin has earlier on worked as a proprietor at Menja Furnisher and later moved to Prime Trans city Sacco as the director of the Sacco.
Thereafter, Gathiru was elected as a member of the National Assembly, where he served from 2017 to 2022 and was later re-elected.
In the 2022 general elections, IEBC declared Benjamin Gathiru alias Mejjadonk as the MP-elect for Embakasi Central.
He garnered 48,277 votes against his opponent, Samuel Ng’ang’a Mwangi from the Jubilee Party, who got 29,375 votes.
As a Member of Parliament, Mejja donk is responsible for various duties assigned to his title, including debating and passing laws, and approving the national budget.
Additionally, he is also expected to hold the government accountable and represent the interests of their constituents.
Gathiru’s special skills have been highlighted as Negotiation & Dispute Resolution, Professional Advocacy, Customer & Personal Service and Business Management among others.
On July 31, 2024, Benjamin Gathiru alias Mejja Donk and his Embakasi North counterpart MP James Gaguya were questioned at the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road.
This was after their alleged sponsorship of the recent anti-tax protests that rocked the country and hit global headlines.
