About Deliverance Church
Deliverance Church Umoja was founded on 20th May 1984. After a week of crusades and outreach, they had their first Sunday service under a tent pitched in an open field next to Umoja market, under the leadership of Pastor J.B. Masinde.
40 families from DC Eastleigh had volunteered to pioneer the ministry with him.
Two and a half years later, the congregation moved to the site of their main campus in Umoja Innercore. Now they have grown into one congregation with multiple locations, opening two more campuses on Kangundo Road and in Umoja 3.
Since their first church-plant in Kitwii, Machakos County, they have been directly involved in planting hundreds of churches both locally and internationally.
Other branches include Karagita, Mwiki, Donholm, KCC, Kagundo Road, Ngong Road, Kyumbi. At the same time, in Kitui, Kangundo, Mwalla, Kathiani, Athi River, Kitengela, Ngong and Kiserian.
They were also involved in planting Deliverance Church in Lusaka, Zambia, from which forty churches have now been planted, including five in Congo DRC.
